![]() This book doesn't have all the answers. It wasn't meant to. What I've tried to do is to bring to your attention alternative products and, in some cases, construction methods to consider. I hope that it moves you toward a new mind-set – an attitude that considers the future impact of decisions made today. It would be impossible to share all the information that's available on the market today, or to predict what will be there tomorrow. There are individuals, associations, and organizations heavily involved in developing and promoting alternative construction methods and materials, as well as other environmental issues. Some have a long track record and have done extensive research. I suggest that you contact these organizations to gather materials for your library. In some cases, you may even want to join the organization. They can be valuable resources. Keep in mind that this isn't a complete list of organizations. Probably no author could accomplish that. If you should come across any we missed, I encourage you to contact them to see what they have to offer. Then let me know about them (C.R.S., Inc., P.O. Box 4567, Spokane, WA 99202-0567 or http://www.asktooltalk.com). I'll check them out and try to include them in future editions. Also check out the Appendix for a list of building industry associations that can provide reams of information – just for the asking. |
