While Chapters 2 and
3 are packed full of ideas and products, remember that this book
isn't the final word on the subject. There are many more products on
the market! What I've tried to do in these chapters is to give you a
new outlook and some insights into what you can expect throughout this
book. They're also a starting point to consider alternative materials
and methods. If there's a new product out there that could let you build
better structures for less, and put more profit in your pocket, it's
not going to do you any good if you don't know about it. Not every product
will be right for you, but I hope the information in this book will
help you zero in on the ones that are. The key is to start somewhere
with trial and error until you find that "just right"
product that you're comfortable with. That's the product you should
be selling and installing.
The next chapter deals with
more conventional framing materials. These are products that can help
to save on labor cost, provide some design flexibility, and that you
can incorporate with products
described in these first two chapters. Most of them are also more environmentally
friendly than the older products and methods, a good selling point for
your customers and the right thing to do for the planet.
