Manhours – Therma-Floor is sold by authorized dealers and installed by factory-trained installers. But a dealer may sell you the product to handle small jobs, like a bathroom, for instance. This entire system can usually be installed by one person, with the exception of mixing and pouring Therma-Floor. Of course, it depends on room size. You may need an electrician to feed the power and do the final hook-up. The following manhour estimates are based on the WFK 120-volt electric system and experienced installers (having installed the product at least three times). They include the WFK (but not the thermal mass and finish floor covering):

  • 12 square feet – 1.5 manhours

  • 18 square feet – 2.0 manhours

  • 32 square feet – 2.5 manhours

  • 48 square feet – 3.0 manhours

  • 62 square feet – 3.5 manhours

  • 94 square feet – 4.0 manhours

Now that you've become an insulation specialist, let's switch gears and move on to Doors, Windows, and Trim. While we all know the importance of insulation in saving energy, remember that doors and windows are important, too. In the next chapter we'll introduce some interesting products that can give your next project that special spark it needs. Some of the new products not only add to overall comfort but will also add character – something just about any home could use!
